  1. Just bought a 50 pack of Fujifilm DVD+R from COMPUSA for about $60. Came with a 8 dollar rebate too. Seems like a great deal. The top of the only visible disk says "made in Taiwan" Now I'm afraid to open it. I may return it. Has anyone bought this and identified the media code. I see lots of RICOH media codes for Fuji on this website but I believe that is all Japan. These are silver. Spindle paper label says 4.7GB/Go 120 min Disc for Data and video. The "made in Taiwan" is making me think this might be CMC.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  2. the 50pk comes as a 2 25pk, right? my 25pk says it's made in Taiwan, but are Ricoh when i used DVDinfo. i'm sure it should be Ricoh type media, unless they pull a 'MEMOREX DVD+R' and switch to CMC.

  4. Ultra911 - It is a Fujifilm 50 pack spindle, not 2 25 packs. But yours says "made in Taiwan" on the disk (not on the paper label) and they are RICOH? - If so, I am a bit closer to opening this. I'll wait another day or two and see if I get any definite replies from anyone that bought this at COMPUSA. I'll let you all know what they are.
    Thanks Noki for your reply.

  5. I'm 99% sure they would be Ricoh discs made by RITEK. Very good quality stuff indeed!

  6. my says ricoh on the paper label, and are ricoh. when you think about it, all of their dvd medias are non-CMC. should not worry as long as u have fuji for now.

noki, recently, some people have reported they bought CMC Memorex DVD+R 4X

  7. OK - Thanks all. I'll proabably crack this case of fujis tomorrow morning and then we'll all know what they are.

If anyone else out there has bought from compusa 50 pack fuji DVD+R and knows who makes them, please comment.

  8. OK all - I opened and burned a copy of one of my home camcorder made family movies. The FUJI DVD+R's I bought from COMPUSA are media code RICOHJPNR00. Good deal, $56.84 for a 50 pack after tax and 8 dollar rebate. I knew who made them as soon as I opened them and saw the disc surface. Same as previous Verbatim datalife plus that I bought, same purple surface, similar serial number - also Ricoh. One set of Verbatims I bought in the past were also made by Mitsubishi Chemical. Never had a bad burn on either brand.
