  1. i recently burned a svcd using tmpgenc and then using nero to burn(to a cd-r). for some reason it does not work on the ps2(but it works fine on my dvd player. is there any other way to encode the cd so that it works on my ps2

    SVCD does NOT work on a PS2. Read the dvd player guides(yes ps2 is in there), you would have found out that it wont play an svcd or vcd. Of course there are gonna be all kinds of people telling you about mods and chips and hacks, but PS2 will NOT play these discs.

    I can tell you for a fact that vcd will not work never tried SVCD and cant tell you anything about that.

    However, If you can convert the file to Divx it will work if you use the Mediaplayer disk.

    I have personally looked at a few movies and it works well if you convert to divx 4 or higher or xvid.

    But you will need a bootdisk with a swap trick or a modchip to get the media player disk to boot divx movies)
    (there is even a way to put the mediaplayer program on the same cd)
