  1. I watch Scrooge (Albert Finney) and bake cookies with my step daughter.

What MUST you do around the holidays for it to FEEL like the holidays?

  3. ...'til my wife goes into a demented sort of overdrive, baking cookies for sales, hanging wreaths, stringing lights, shopping, dragging me out to visit people I heartily dislike. Yeah, I HATE Christmas, at times I want to flee (don't know where to?) or shoot Santa Claus.

Okay, rant over, where's the hot toddy?

Actually, I have George C. Scott as Scrooge. Although the critics (and I have to agree with them) thinks Alistair Sims is the best.

Anyway, I know it is when the Missus breaks out her santa hat and makes me put up the decorations.
    Hello.

Suppose it starts with the tree and decorations - should be any day now...

Then it's seeing the classic shows, everything from the old ones like "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Miracle on 34th Street" to the new(er) ones like "Scrooged" and "A Christmas Story"

Not to say I'll watch them all - it's just seeing them up on the schedules...

  10. I was really shooting for people's "good" feelings about the holidays. It seems that the answers here are leaning towards one's hatred or dislike of the holiday season.

Even though the question was vauge, I was not expecting that.

I had an answer to this question, but then I forgot it. But I guess movies like scrooge and It's a wonderful life. But that bring's up a good question about scrooge. How many scrooge movies were made ? I remember one with Alester Simm, George C. Scott, Albert Finney, Bill Muary, Henry Winkler.

When the hard rock station that I listen to finally gives in and plays a Christmas tune.

One station is playing nothing by Christmas music. It's terrific. Yesterday, the weather was cold and rainy, but the Christmas music matched perfectly.

    It's NOT the holidays till...
...I watch George Bailey of Bedford Falls realise the importance of his own existence.

Difficult one for me this time, my little boy is almost two and I haven't yet experienced the joy of my son enjoying Christmas morning.
He was too young last year.
I haven't looked forward to Christmas this much since I was a kid myself

From what I can see there's only one negative post, no?

My wife plays "A Christmas Story" DVD all day long, decorates the tree, and last but not least, tries to dress the cats up for holidays (you've never seen 3 cats run so fast and so far!)
