  1. I'm trying really hard to backup my expensive anime dvds by downloading them from Grokster and then encoding them but it keeps getting an error every time the error has this little window pop up with a red circle with a white x threw it saying that This program has preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

    Then in details it says:

TMPGENC caused an exception 10H in module MP43DMOD.DLL at 017f:073e5c5d.

  2. Wouldn't it be better to backup from DVD rather than d/ld avi ?

  4. That error message means nothing to me, but have you scanned the avi using Vdub for bad frames ? Also have you tried frameserving the avi to TMPGenc, again using Vdub ?

If you find bad frames in the avi cut them out using the guides on this site.

If you find none try frameserving using Vdub, again guides for this on this site.
