Noticed the other post regarding this topic but I need a little clarity. I'm also not sure if this is the right site to ask this but the HTPC site is down right now.
I'm trying to figure out what kind of PC requirements I need for hooking up to my rptv. It's a Samsung 47" hdtv 480p/1080i, with 1 s-video and 2 component video hookups. I've heard that I'll need a dvi to component video converter. Is this just for converting from 15pin(or whatever the tv/out on the video card is) to the 3 component video cables? Does this adjust for differences in resolution? How would I know if my tv can support the resolution for gaming or vids? And I'm not sure what the details on the video card I should look for.
I'm knew at this stuff, so I'm not too technically inclined. Any help would be great.
