  1. If you were going to make a copy of a DVD movie, would you prefer to burn it to a -r or +r DVD? Which would be better?

And if you were going to copy an already copied movie, would you copy from a -r or a +r? If there any advantage to copying from a - or +

  2. 1. It depends on the playback device. If it will play both then let your wallet and your judgment dictate which to use.
Compatibility for me means DVD-R. It plays in everything I or anyone I know has. DVD+R dosen't seem to be as compatible as DVD+RW which I also use.
    2. Dosen't matter. Playback ability of the DVD to be made is what matters.

  4. The companies that make your DVD player. Sony likes +R. Panasonic likes -RAM. Other companie slike -R. Just check the pecs on each player in the players section to your left.

  5. I have an older Sony, and it plays both formats, DVD-R and +R, with no problems. It also does both -rw and +rw with no problem. I think the sony dvd players are actually the most forgiving and compatible from most brands. And -R is most compatible with older brands as well.

soimcrazy, it does not matter if your original was burned on + media, and you only have -r left over to write to, or vice versa. Whats important is that the first burned dvd was done correctly with no problems and when you re-copy it, you don't screw it up. Just use smartripper or even explorer to copy your files to a temp folder, without changing anything, then reburn with recordnow or nero, or what else you have laying around.
