What is the best way to convert from iMovie to SVCD?
I've tried lots of options and the results haven't been that great. Here's what I've been doing:
Export to DV from iMovie.
Open in QT and choose "High Quality" and "Single Field" in movie properties.
Convert to SVCD in ffmpegX - options chosen are altivec, bicubic, standard svcd, not interlaced, etc.
Results are somewhat stuttered playback and the video looks really bad because it's still not interlaced even though I chose "single field" in QT. I've also tried converting with interlace options frame or field but that doesn't make a difference. I've also tried exporting to other formats aside from DV but that doesn't make a difference either.
The only time when I got good results was when I exported to MPEG-2 from iMovie and then converted with ffmpegX. Thing is, I'm trying to find a method that works for everyone, regardless of whether or not they have DVDSP.
Anyone have some ideas?

Currently Quicktime decoding is always deinterlaced. Support of interlaced decoding and encoding could be implemented in future versions of ffmpegX.
