    I just checked 2 avi files for bad frames and on one file an avi file with Divx 5.o codec virtual dub mp3 freeze crashes, I even downloaded another copy of Virtdub.
    Virtualdub said "could not open debug resource file", Crash reason "Access Voilation"
    Can anyone tell me what is going on? Is it the program or my avi file.

    What was the source of the files? Did you capture them yourself, or are they downloads from Kazaa? If the latter is the case, it might be an intentionally corrupted file. I've had several of them myself.

    Try the link below, It has a great step by step guide to encoding MPG, and deals with a section on how to fix crashes when virtualdub mp3 crashes while testing video freezes....... hope this helps
