SO i purchased a LG GSA-4040B yesterday, firmware updated to a301, and a spindle of 50 RiData DVD-R's. I decided to test backing up a DVD (Martix Reloaded) that i bought last week. I followed the guide using the FREE tools.
#1 DVD Decrytper v3.1.7.0 ripped to HDD
#2 DVDshrink, shrinked main title from VTS_01_1.IFO to 73%
#3 DVDFAB to make a VIDEO_TS.IFO file
#4 ImgTool Classic_0.90B8 to make an ISO.
Everything went fine. My problem is, the folder produced by DVDShrink reports all the files to be 4.35 GB in size, While when I make an ISO, ImgTool is making it 5.10 GB. then DVD Decrypter tells me it's too big to burn.
I don't understand why ImgTool is increasing the size 800MB when making an ISO. I've searched the guides and FAQ and find no references to this at all. If there is some setting that I am missing please Help me out here.
Otherwise any other suggestions would be helpful.
Thanx
Asmodeus.

Once DVD Shrink gives you the "green light" so to speak, dump all the files it gives you into the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero, and burn.

@ The Real Asmodeus,
As previously stated, you don't really need to use DVD Decrypter to rip the files first, but if you do, you will have to rip all the files, as described in the following guide:
http://www.dvdshrink.info/dvd-decrypter.php
This way you will not need to use DVDFab to create a VIDEO_TS.IFO file.
Also, if you do not have a burning software (which would explain why you make an ISO image first), I'd suggest you try burnatonce, a free and user-friendly software:

Wow thanks all.... Seems I was going about this all the wrong way.... Too many steps.
I used the Shrink and then Nero. worked like a charm. The great thing is, the DVD's will play in My cheap APEX DVD player I bought from Wallmart for $60. .
After a successful test of the Matrix Reloaded, I did Finding Nemo. I just used DVDShrink and re-authored, and grabbed only the main title. took about 13 min to rip, and 12 min to burn. Now i can let my 3 girls use the DVD's without fear of them wrecking it. and best of all they can just put the movie in the player and it plays. No confusing menus and stuff for the 6 year old to try to figure out.
Thanks so much to the people that put up this site, the community that supports it and all the guides done by all of you. I'll definately be coming back often if i need any advice from here on in. Now i got alot of burning to do, we have about 200 Kids DVD's and they all need this kind of backing up.
I still don't understand why the huge increase in size when converting to an ISO image, but hey it doesn't really matter anymore!
THANK YOU!
