I have managed to put in menu screens and to switch from Main Menu to Sub Menu, but cannot seem to set up the chapters. When I get to the chapter screen and say press to view the 3rd chapter nothing happens, I get the 'No Entry' sign on screen, however if I press 1 for the first chapter (start of movie) it will play from the beginning no problem. How do I split the main mpeg in tscv into the chapters that I need ? I am so close to what I need to achieve, I think I'm just not doing one little thing. Any idea's ?

If you are taking 1 mpeg and trying to make chapters in it you must go to the chapter tab and enter where you want the chapters. I usually us the "make chapters ever___ seconds." I put in 300 (5min) and hit enter and there you have it, you now have chapters every 5 minutes. Now go back to the menu page and go to ref1 and make that 0, ref 2 make that 1, ref 3 make that 2 ect until you got all the chapters you made in the ref tab, that way you can go from the menu to any chapter by hitting the # pad.

lafamar, cheers but thats the guide I followed, to go into a bit more detail, What I have done is this, I have a main mpeg movie and added to the front a couple of trailers, i joined them in tmpegenc (mpegtools) to make one large file. My first menu screen tells the viewer to press 1 to enter at their own risk, the second sub-menu has 3 thumbnails 1 for first trailer , 2 for second trailer and 3 for play movie. The result I have at the moment is, After inserting into standalone player, the first menu appears (How I want) I press 1 and go to the second menu with sound (How I want it to) from here all I can do is select 1 which plays the file from the beginning ie the first trailer, I cannot select 2 or 3, if i press stop it returns to the second sub menu screen with sound , this is also what I want it to do. Can you help any more with this info...much appreciated..

all the settings that you need are in the properties box on the menu page in tscv.In the ref spaces in the properties box have them point to where you want to go with that #. It is real hard to explain since i am not sure how you are adding and all but play with the properties box and you will get it. good luck.

highlight your second menu and then go to the properties box and enter what you want that menu to do. (say on your second menu you have 3 chapters and then when the last chapter is done you want it to go back to the main menu.) you would put the main menu as your timeout. I mean let me know exatly what you want from every chapter and every menu and i can help you out better.
