HP DVD Writer 300i

I'm trying to install the software that comes with the Writer. It will install all components on the disc except for "RecordNow", which is what I need to burn. It said this in the readme file, but I cant figure out what to do:

Incompatibility issues prevent the installation of the Veritas DLA
application in conjunction with certain other applications
and storage device drivers and software.

When a known incompatibility is found, the HP Installer will
display a warning message, and then disable the installation of
Veritas DLA. All other user-selected applications will proceed to
install normally.

The incompatible software applications include Roxio's Easy CD
Creator and DirectCD, (as well as the Adaptec/Roxio UDF Reader), and
the Nero/Ahead Burning ROM and InCD software suite. To install Veritas
DLA, these applications must first be uninstalled.

As these two software suites offer comparable DVD and CD burning
functionality, including UDF file systems on DVD and CD media, you
may continue using these software packages instead of DLA. In this case,
contact the vendor of those software products to get the latest drive
support updates, which will allow them to utilize your new HP DVD Writer
drive.


Incompatibility between Veritas DLA and Intel Application Accelerator
---------------------------------------------------------------------

A serious incompatibility exists between DLA and the storage
device drivers installed by the Intel Application Accelerator. When
these two are installed together, the Application Accelerator may
cause a fatal, blue-screen failure in Microsoft Windows during system
boot.

DO NOT INSTALL DLA when the Intel Application Accelerator is
already installed!

The HP Install process will automatically prevent DLA from being
installed if the Intel Application Accelerator is detected on your
PC.

I called HP and they sent me a new disc, still the same problem. Is there something additional I need to download or do, someone please help.

This is more of a general software conflict issue than a hardware burner issue. According to the readme file, Veritas DLA cannot be installed because of potential conflict with InCD, DirectCD, and/or Intel Application Accelerator. So either you un-install all the mentioned softwares or de-select DLA installation from the RecordNow installation process should do the trick.

Since all these packet writing softwares (InCD, DirectCD, or DLA) are quite buggy and problematic, there is no point to install them unless you actually want to use one of them.

How do I remove the InCD, I dont see it in the add/remove programs
