  1. What is the easiest way to convert avi to dvd.prefrerably without using 2 million pieces of software. When i convert vcd i only need to use vdub and temeg. nice and easy.
    any ideas please.

    Which "*.avi" ? It comes in many flavours.

    One last question. Does the audio need to be converted? virtualdub was mentioned in baldricks reply

  5. TMPGEnc usually does an okay job of converting the audio for you (and you can plugin external apps like LAME mp3, tooLame and SSRC which some people say do a better job than TMPGEnc's internal audio engine.)

    Sometimes (i.e. if you have A/V sync problems, or TMPGEnc won't take the avi's audio as a source), it's best to split the audio out (with VirtualDub or GoldWave probably the easiest ways) and decompress/normalise it first, then feed it into TMPGEnc as the audio source.

    No offence, but all this stuff has been covered a gazillion times in the guides and in the forum. Do some searches.

    I take your point about it being covered a gazzillion times in the forums, but thats just it "a gazzillion times " and all different.
    I just wanted a simple package that i could use without being bambuzled.
