  1. I have recently installed a TV wonder card on my Celeron 900 @ 1162 Mhz with 512mb Ram and Geforce 256 Video. All features of the card works fine but when recording from the tuner or video-in it records fine but when I go to write with Nero 5.5 I get the VCD compliance error. When I Burn this to VCD format It will wok or my friends Toshiba 2710 DVD player but not on my Yamaha s-510. I get skipping and audio sparks. The recording is set to 1.15 MB/s video CIF NTSC 525 lines @ 29.97 frames 3:4 aspect ratio and 4 P Frames groups and 2 B frames in subgroups. Audio is 48khz, 384 bit . I have tried to de-mux and mux the file and cannot figure this out.
Anyone know a solution for this ?

  2. Check the DVD Players compatibility list (on the left sidebar of this webpage).

  3. Checked compatibility and it looks ok, this dvd player plays just about every format vcd, svcd, xvcd, xsvcd.

  4. try tmpgEnc program
    * Menu -> File/Mpeg tools/Cut-join select type mpeg-1 video cd Select add... (your file) select an output filename and press start.
then the outfile is OK for Nero.

  5. I have a jvc and specs says it will work, but won't read home made (s)vcd and 50/50 on bootleg vcd.

Bought an apex at circutcity for $85(open box) and it works. Slow, but reads all my discs.

  6. I have been using tmpgenc for all my other appz and never thought of encoding mpeg1 to mpeg1 but it did work. Thanks for all the help.

  7. By the way for VCD compliance, Video = 1.15MB/s NTSC 29.97fps or 23.976fps, 352 x 240; Audio = 224kb/s, 44.1Khz

Other than this will not be compliant for NERO NTSC VCD.

  8. instead of re-encoding, you can try to use tmpeg to demux the stream and then remux using the standard vcd template. this has worked for me, as i have a similar setup as you.

  9. If you are using MM7.1 just use the VCD template, I've tried using mpeg-1 setting according to compliance but does not work, if I record using VCD it works just fine, quality is just a little bit less using their template.

Thank you everyone for your help.
