  1. Anybody have success encoding to DVD with CCE 2.50 SP on WinXP?
The ONLY way I can get it to work is via frameserving from VirtualDub.
Yeah it works, but I can't figure out why this is the only way it will work.
Doesn't work when you add a file directly via CCE GUI, and doesn't work via DOCCE4U either. Encodes a garbled mess in these cases.

Not a big deal, but wondering the reason...

  2. I do it all the time without problem (open avi or AVS script file) so I suspect it's a problem at your end, sorry But it sounds like a problem with your AVISynth setup/script files.

  3. I'm not using AVISynth, just dragging-and-dropping the file into CCE -- this doesn't work. Frameserving via VDub does work.

  4. Have you tried using DVD2SVCD?

It can do more than the name suggests.

    I personally wouldn't touch CCE outside of DVD2SVCD - I don't doubt that it's an excellent encoder, but it's not exactly user-friendly!

  5. I'm encoding to DVD, not SVCD, so I don't think DVD2SVCD is what I need....

As theDruid says, it does more than the name suggests. It can be used for encoding to DVD if setup correctly. I have used it this way myself. There is a guide somewhere on this site on how to use it for CVD, just take that and adjust settings accordingly.

DVD2SVCD is more correctly called (AVI/DVD)2(VCD/SVCD/xVCD/XSVCD/CVD/DVD). It's a great one for spitting out AC3 and M2V files without meaning too! I use it for 1/2 D1 encodes, with ac3 sound.
