    Doubtful - DVD-R's use a wobbled groove like CD-R's for their timing reference. It is my opinion that 4x, maybe 6x, will be the maximum -R achieves due to physical limitations. In any affordable quantity, that is.

    The clocking mechanism in +R drives is more robust and theoretically at least have more potential for higher speed writing than -R does.
