  1. I have a cyber-home dvd player model 500. I burned some home movies to DVD - yes using the cheaper CompUSA brand DVD-R! But wait before you comment

These home movies will play for a while, then the recorder will lock-up! Now it will NOT do it at the same point on the media! Rather it seems to do this when the DVD Player has been operating for more that 15 minutes (heats up maybe)?

Now here's the kicker! We have the SAME problem with new high quality movies like HULK and even with DVD rentals.

At first I thought the media was the problem (especially with my CompUSA DVD-R). However, as mentioned I'm have the same problems with all DVDs!

Once you leave the player sit for a while (1/2 hour or so). It will work fine again, for a while, then will lock up - but again not at the same points in the movie!

I'm kind of new to these DVD stuff, but I know technology fairly well - I even used to repair 8 track cassette desks Which BTW - an 8 track would play in ANY 8 track player. So much for technological advances

To me, this seems like an operational problem, heat, power, etc?

Please advise and thank you all very much!

BTW - I have loaded the lastest firmware for this DVD Player - it didn't help.

I hope it is still under warranty. If the player locks up no matter what DVD you play in it, then once it cools off and heats up again, repeats its malfunction, tell the dealer the same thing when you take it back. Take your commercial DVDs with you, in case he wants to see for himself.
    Hello.
