I just tried updating to the Pinnacle solution and found it does not work very well. I tried to go back to using just the old DAZZLE DVXCELKStest utility and Graphedit to make SVCDs. In the past this has provided me with a quick and easy way to make good quality SVCDs.
Using that method, you don't really use Moviestar, just the DVXCELKStest utility. Then you produce m2v and mp2 files in Graphedit. Finally, you use TMPEGenc tools to produce an mpg that is acceptable to VCDEASY.
However, nothing would worke with DAZZLE software after having loaded the new Pinnacle upgrades. In frustration, I completely overhauled my computer, new hard discs, new XP operating system.
Now with a fresh install, the DAZZLE appeared to work. I soon found that the audio resolution could not be correctly set with the DVXCELKStest. There is a place to set it to 48 or 41 kHz, but the resultant is always a 48 kHz resolution file. My SVCDs now have a screwed up audio. The audio is going faster than the video and way out of synch. I found a AudioResampler filter and used it. While somewhat in synch, the resultant sound was awful.
I cannot figure this out. I have installed the latest version of Moviestar that I know of, v 5.3.0.25. The DVC 150 driver is v 3.20.0.0. No matter if I click on 41 or 48, the captured file is 48. Both TMPEGenc and VCDEASY always reports this, and the produced SVCD is now always a dud.
Anybody got any ideas?![]()
