Home Cam vids to play in DVD??

I was wondering, how i put a video from my camcorder onto a DVD-R and have it play. The video is in .AVI format, i went to use nero to make a dvd movie. Nero doesn't allow that format and reccomends nerovision. I dont know of any ways to do this so maybe you guys can help me out, i just want to play my captured camcorder vids on my dvd players... I know i sound stupid and maybe confusing but any help i would greatly appreciate!

You need to give us more information. What type of AVI? There are quite a few. If you captured it, what kind of compression? Is it a DV AVI? You need to read the guides to the left of this site. Can you open it in MS player? There are many ways to do what you want to do. It take some studying.
