I used Tmpgenc DVD Author to create DVD. After burning DVD with Tmpgenc, I found that the DVD will play in my computer (PowerDVD) but not on my set-top DVD.

    Any Suggestions, Pat

Your DVD player probably doesn't like MPEG2 audio DVD's -- my old Sanyo wouldn't even load the disc. Try PCM Audio or AC3 using beSweet would be my guess.

What DOES it do when you put the disk in your set-top. Does it display an error, spit it out, start to play then hang, something else, which is it?

Have you checked that your set-top is compatible with the media type used? (DVD players list, left of page).

it did not respond, My dvd continues to say loading. I'm guessing it's trying to read the format. What do you use for authoring? I had the same response with DVD Lab.

  5. The fact that you had the same issue with DVD-Lab suggests burning or more likley media.

I Ask again, does your set-top support the media type (+ or -) you are using?

  7. Ok, your set-top should support any media.

    Have you tried HillJack's suggestion?

    Different Brand Media

    Different Burning program.

Sorry but it's really just a case of trial and error from now on.

various, depending on what I am trying to achieve and what the source material is. I have in my 'armoury'

    Spruce UP (Basic but reliable)
    DVD-Lab (Flexible but Buggy)
    Ulead DVD WS
Dazzle DVD complete (really quick to author a V. SImple DVD)

I posted a question about advanced dvd authoring with DVD Lab. I noticed with commercial dvd's i.e., recently released, "The Hulk", that there are "commercial intros." And I noticed with Tmpgenc DVD Author, the movie starts immediately upon insertion into the dvd player. I was wondering if you know of some settings to allow these functions?

  11. You have to make your 'intro' the 1st play item. I have just done a clean re-install of XP on my PC and havn't got round to re-intsalling DVD-lab yet so can't check the exact details, but it can be done from the connections page.
