  1. This is going to be a rather over the top question but I'm gonna ask coz its got me stuck!!! I hired a copy of the gift UK Pal.. well the vobs ripped to the drive without any hassle but when it came to the conversion it said there was no audio there what so ever??? this is not possible I thought so I again ripped the vobs to my other pc & it said the same... used many decrptor progs & encoders i.e clad & dvddecrptor & encoders dvdx, flask & dvd2avi and the same result. Please can anyone shed some light on this if they have either had the same problem or have ripped the the pal version of this film.

    Cheers

Have you tried it with a different audio track? I don't know much about flask, but dvd2avi does not decode DTS tracks. I use to decrypt with smartripper, that gives me a INFO.txt file, so I can select the proper audio track easily.

  4. honestly it does not even take the audio across despite whatever program I use. Even if i use smart ripper it says there is audio there but once over... well no program will pick it up... hence video & no sound

  6. I've tried to copy it three times and gave up! The sound was well out of synch, I'd turned my AV software off, but to no avail.

  8. I too had a problem with The Gift, I successfully ripped the vob's with SmartRipper, and tested them with PowerDVD -
all ok sound & video. But when I tried DVDx to encode, it would just hang. Has anyone managed to !backup! this dvd, and if so how?

  9. Did this one last week no probs.Used smartripper or clad, can't remember which cause I use both programs.dvd2avi v1.74 - tmpeg to resize and split the movie into two parts - save these two (tpr) project files in tmpeg - convert the tpr's with vfapi - encode with cinemacraft sp2.62. I have no concerns about the quality of the audio in this version of cinemacraft. Multiplex with I-author and burn.

  11. P@iNKilleR, i'm sorry for the late reply, and since you've mentioned you have it sorted, i'll just mention that some movies (Example: Sleepless In Seattle) their audio is MPEG and not AC3, so DVD2AVI created an MPG file, and some movies use DTS, and I don't know how the program handles those type of Audio Streams, so it gives some problem, if your DVD has optional Audio tracks, then always try to select the AC3 if you can, if not, try using a diffrenet ripping method.
