    I am having trouble recording at 2x's with my Sony 500 on Ritec 2x disc

    It starts out at burning 2x's for just about 2 minutes and then it goes to 1x burning for some reason.

    OS = XP Professional
    Plenty of memory and hd space
    Using any burning software

    i had the same problem with Ritek G03 2x speed disks it said 2xspeed but when i try'd to burn it went down to 1.4x speed took 55mins. i now use Ritek G04 media no problems burning those at 4x Speed. 14mins now
    i use pioneer DVR-106D 4x speed drive great burner...

    I don't think that Riteks are for the Sony & what firmware are you using?

    The Ritek burns 2x on my sonny 500.
