    Hello, Im having problems backing up a DVD movie and converting to DVD-R.
    it's the very first time ive tried it and im stuck already.
    ive searched the net and read the guides but I tried using DVD 3.0 Shrink and the error i got was:
    DVD Shrink has encountered a error and cannot continue - Failed to read file - Reason is Unknown.
    The movie is a brand new film Original with no scratches.
    Could anyone help me please - Could it have some new kind of copyright protection on it?

    Nope, just the old copyright protection. Try playing the main DVD movie while ripping and see if that works.

    if it still doesn't work try ripping the complete DVD with DVDDecrypter or Smartripper and loading the resulting files into DVDShrink
