This is more of personal curiosity. I am NOT attempting to find places, NOR am I condoning piracy. I am NOT trying to break the rules of this forum.

I was having a discussion with a friend today about MPAA and told him about screeners and bootlegs I'd seen available for renting.

Have any of you ever seen bootlegs or screeners for sale or rent?

And I mean in a brick-n-mortar store only, not a flea market, sidewalk peddler, online, etc.

I saw a place in Ontario and one in Alaska. Please give vague locations, like only the state/province/country name. The one in Ontario was even well-known for it, though nothing ever happened to the place in all its years of business. BJ_M has probably heard of it.

It's also safe to say bootleg-full places like Hong Kong and China are given. I'm mainly curious in North American and European locations, places that are normally strict about these matters.

Weekend only type fleamarkets only. And then it's usually $10 US VHS tapes. Quality is fair (not that i've bought, but they have a display up, and a 13" TV/VCR unit). You really have to look close to see bootlegs versus originals, but the printing isn't offset, it's color laser and that's how I know for sure.

I did know of someone in NYC that did it for spare $$$. He used to bring in (so he said) $500 a month in bootleg DVDR's. Too bad some ratted him out for a terrible copy of some flick. NYC Police busted him, took his computer....etc.
