1)If I am going to copy a DVD a DVD-R disk, does the DVD that I am copying have to be in a DVD drive, or will a regular CD-ROM drive work?
2)Is there a program that will convert a .VOB file into a regular MPEG file? Thanks.

They were stupid questions until you asked them, now they are very good questions.

    1. The drive the original DVD is in must be able to play the DVD, so only a DVD drive (DVD-ROM or DVD writer) will work.

    2. Yes, several programs can convert VOBs to MPEG. One that comes to mind is TMPGEnc, provided all the VOBs from the DVD are joined in one large VOB. Aonother program that can load vobs, but must frameserve to another encoder to encode the VOBs to MPEG, is Virtual Dub mod.
    Hello.
