I have heard that the Canopus ADVC-50 will not work with Win XP SP1 operating systems. Is this true? I was thinking about getting one for Christmas.

A day or 2 ago someone else was having problems with all of these Canopus devices. They also put a link for a patch at the Canopus web site, you might want to look around the Canopus site for the patch.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I don't need the patch yet (even if it works). I was planning on buying an ADVC-50 this Christmas.

Is anyone running WinXP w/SP1 with the ADVC-50?

  4. Yes, I am running the ADVC-50 under WinXP with SP1 without problems.
I use WinDV to capture. I have only had a few times, although WinDV was running, there was no capture, but after restarting the system or disconnecting the power from the ADVC everything is ok.
