  2. One time this guy cut me off coming out of a parking lot on his cell phone. I got so pissed, not because he cut me off but because he was on his phone talking like a moron. So I tailed this guy to his stop and when he got out I snuck up on him.

I grabbed my hunters knife and shoved it through his chest cavity into his left lung. I just sat there and laughed at him while he was gasping for air. Just watching the blood bubble out from the air escaping out of his cut. Then finally I started to feel somewhat bad so I slit his throat and watched him bleed into the gutter of the street.

I then sat around for another hour or so taking pictures with the dead corpse. Made it look like we were long lost buddies.

Ok none of that was true but you wanted a good story. I actually try not to get road rage that much but when I do it usually consists of alot of swearing, the middle finger a whole lot, and a busted artery because the stress level is so high.

I am interested to hear others though.

P.S. Do not take the above story literally and I do not condone any of that behavior.......don't want a yellow card...hehe

I had a gun pulled on me once... 183 Airport Freeway @ Loop 12 near the 114 exit in Irving, Texas. Northbound Loop 12. Guy grabbed it out of the glove box and chased me in his beat up piece of shit SUV that had cut me off exiting 183 and nearly made me wreck. Of course, I gave the finger honked and yelled.

A quick swerve across the road onto the 114 exit, and in front of two cars saved me. He couldn't cut over without hitting one, so off he went, never to be seen ago. Drunken *******.

I never saw the gun, just a dark object out of the glove box, after he leaned over to get it, waiving it in the air, then pointing it in my direction. I doubt it to be anything else, especially knowing the trash that lives just south of that intersection in one of the toilets of Dallas. This was some years back, during the big road rage problem faced in the Metroplex.

But I still give the finger, normally to truckers that don't look before changing lanes.

I avoid road rage for the most part, but attract ignorant or stupid drivers like mad for some reason. The only times people get pissed at me is when I prevent them from cutting me off. You can usually tell when someone will cut you off because they're either not paying attention and don't even know you're there or they were already driving aggressively. I did coax someone who had been trying to cut me off into an accident, not really on purpose, it just happened. He had been tailgating me and then tried to go around me but all the traffic in front of us was going just as slow so what's the use trying to pass up one car? Well I deterred his attempts for quite a while then noticed people several cars up really hitting the brakes hard for something and I knew that the hold up would work its way to me so I started to slow down early. Of course the idiot driver saw this as his opportunity to finally get in front of me and moves over in my lane so I lay on the brakes hard knowing something bad is about to go down. The timing was perfect, the car that had been in front of me had just stood on the brakes just as the idiot was accelerating into the opening between us. I swear I bet he accelerated right into the back end of the other car, causing that one to go into the car in front of him. I'm sure he was hella-pissed after all that, but I just moved into the other lane and went right on by.

I have more stories, like one about finally getting even with the maniac, SUV-driving, soccer mom. Y'all know the type

  14. This is somewhat embarrasing...

I was happily driving along and some dude in front of me decided he was mad at me. Not sure if I was too close or cut him off earlier or looked like the guy who fucked his wife, or what ever.

He proceeded to drive at some contant rate then slam on his brakes, let off, slam on his brakes, etc. This at first was amusing then made me angry. I told myself, the next time he slams on his brakes; I'm not stopping.

Well, he slammed on his brakes again, I hit him, on purpose, going about 20 mph more than him. Very satisfying thud, bumper to bumper.

He pulled over in the middle of the highway, I rolled down my window and gave him a very good look at the middle finger.

Makes me smile to think about it.

I swear if I was a millionaire, I would do that more often!

Not really road rage but: driving along in heavy traffic in the fast lane. A bird hits my windshield and gets its wing stuck under the wiper blade. Well, I couldn't pull over in all that traffic so I turned on the wipers. The poor bird was just flappin' away but didn't get free, so I turned the wipers to full speed. Sure enough the bird went flying up over the roof and behind me. A few tenths of a mile later, this cop pulls me over. I had no clue what I'd done. When he approached the car I said what did I do? He said he had to give me a ticket for public indecency. Well, I was livid and said what the hell for?? He said for flipping him a bird.

  16. In my some what younger years I owned an older style Olds Cutlass. BIG, SOLID CAR. A little bit of rust but hey...it was cool.
Anyways, I was following my wife home when out of no where a little Jap car comes up behind me soooo close I could not even see the grill. I had just come up to the top of a small hill when I hit the brakes full-on, both feet. "Whump" I heard/felt. I pulled over and the Jap car "Almost" couldn't pull over.

Ha, Big Old Car eats another - The whole front end of the Jap car was totaled - I mean TOTALLY TOTALED!! It was the first thing I saw. I started thinking aw crap, my nice Big Old Car was messed up. Well, I took one look, then a second look, then a third "TRYING TO SEE THE DAMAGE" but I didn't have but 2 small scratches on my rear bumper.

I told the cop I braked for a cat or squirrel.
The two girls in the Jap car were freaking so bad cause the ones dad was going to bust her good.

I felt kinda bad BUT then I thought it was better this way than ramming some poor family at 80mph on the highway and killing them. MAYBE they learned a lesson!

To this day I STILL HATE tailgaters, with a passion
I did this again in my newer car (small economy car) to a much larger pickup. I was thankful he had anitlock brakes, but still the bast*** passed me then did the same to me. Lucky me - I was thinking and stayed back so all we did was just sit in the middle of the road, just stopped there.

Some people just don't get a clue. If you are on your way home, take your time. What, is your house going to "Write You Up" for being late? Is it going to grow legs and walk away? Come on....SLOOOOOWWWW DOWN in this high speed life some of us seem to live.

(Sorry, my rant is over now)

We had an incident around here a number of months ago... it seems that a driver was flashing his headlights in an effort to signal his intention to pass... well, the 18 year old driver of the car that was being passed took this a little too personal... he allowed the pass, then tucked himself in right behind the passer.

He followed him for a number of miles, exiting with him off the highway, and at the first stop sign, got out of his car and stabbed the guy who passed him.. all the while, the guy being stabbed is trying to apologize to him.... apologize for what? being courteous enough to actually signal his intention to pass? WTF was the problem with this kid?

....problem - he was 18 - young, dumb, and full of (insert word of your choosing here.)....

There are so many new, younger drivers on the roads today who believe that it is their constitutional right to have a drivers license and a car. IT'S A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT! A privilege that the state grants and takes away. Somewhere along the line, Civics Class was either missed or skipped for the younger generation.

They give the responsible young adults a bad name and reputation... all young drivers get tagged as "reckless"...

As for the 18 year old - he sat in jail, parents said he was an adult now and should be treated as such. His defense lawyers (public) have admitted that he is guilty and don't have a defense for his actions.

The victim has since recovered from his attack.

Not that it would have prevented what happened here - but I am a strong backer of restesting ALL drivers every 4 to 5 years.... you would be surprised how many people in general would FAIL the book part of the testing..... even if they have X number of years already behind the wheel.

  18. If I were ever elected as a premier or prime minister I would introduce the following for car licencing:

a)You must complete a level two defensive driving course.
b)You must have logged over 10 lessons with a professional driving instructor.
c)The test would involve emergency braking procedures, oversteer and understeer simulations and also involve testing in different simulated conditions like rain etc.
    d) The test length would increase from 30 minutes to an hour so that all manouveres could be completed
    e) Show drivers footage of crashes to shock it into them that they arent invincible like many think they are.

Then once you had your licence you would require retesting every two years.

Also I would instruct that all speed limits be raised to an amount that is still safe yet more acceptable and also for the police to crackdown on bad driving like tailgating

Here in Pennsylvania, they put up these neon orange or yellow roadsigns that say things like "Beware of Aggressive Drivers" or "Do not Tailgate" and my personal favorite - "Strict Enforcement Zone" (I guess the other areas of the interstate are "Carefree Enforcement Zones"??)

Yeah! That solved the problem! NOT!!

I have had the enjoyment of driving in places like Los Angeles, I-695 around Baltimore, and Washington DC and I have to say this - the drivers in those areas seem courteous when compared to the drivers around Harrisburg, PA..... it's like Harrisburg drivers have to prove to the world that they are #1.... unreal.....

    (end of Harrisburg rant)

L.A. traffic is weenie copared to stuff in Atlanta or Dallas. Seattle can suck too. As does Dallas.

I find more highways means better flow. Try Austin, Texas, the place with two highways and too damned many people. I could never live there. Where's adam? San Antonio gets ugly too around the loops.

Minnesota used to be home to obnoxiously curteous drivers, but now it's worse than driving in big cities. I've noticed that in the past year the average speed of drivers on the highway I commute to work went up from 60mph to over 70mph in a 55mph zone. I'm driving along at just over 60 and most other cars are just flying past me. Most of those vehicles are large pickups and SUVs. I dare not drive as fast as all them for as soon as I do I'll get pulled over.

One of my driving pet peeves is the "checkered flag racer", the driver who goes fast to get in front of a bunch of traffic then slows down since there's nothing else to pass. The worst is when they slow down and suddenly you're having to pass them again, which then makes them think you're trying to take the lead and "race" you even though you've had your cruise control on the whole time. Fortunately I have power to spare so if I feel like it I'll make a showing of how fast they'll have to go in order to pass me again.

So many American drivers are idiots on the road. Where else can you be arrested for drunk driving 9 times and still be able to drive (albeit illegally)?

I've simmered down a bit, but here's my best story.

My friend and I went out for a drink after lifting, one day. We stopped at a bar and downed a pitcher each. I can't remember why, but we both had to be somewhere, so we drank them pretty fast. It wasn't an enormous amount of alcohol, but enough to make me feel a little less inhibited. Especially since we drank them so fast.

Anyway, just before a bridge, some guy with his two girl friends tried to cut me off. A lot of people try to do that at that intersection. Normally, I just let them in, but we were both in a rush to get home and slightly drunk. I made sure the guy couldn't get in and I swear I heard him say "****" to me. I absolutely hate it when people use the f-word against me.

So we made it over the bridge, with him sort of tailing me. I pulled over to the side, then cut off the car behind of him. Now, I was directly behind him. I got more angry, because he was trying to be a tough guy in front of the ladies. I had my stick shift at the time, so I was peeling out and tailing him badly. At the stop sign, I yelled some stuff at him and shook my home made mace. My friend grabbed a sharpening stone that I had on the floor and shook that.

The guy took off in a heart beat. I was absolutely amazed at how fast he ran away. I'm not even a large guy, but I guess my voice made him think otherwise. I tried to keep up, so I could be more of a bully, but he had a sports car and was out of sight in seconds.

I live in San Antonio now and went to college in Austin. You are right Austin has about the worst highway system around. The feeders go straight into oncoming traffic, there is no grace period in which to merge in. I don't know how many people have died trying to get on the highway. The man who designed the Austin highway system actually committed suicide due to all of the fatalities. Now that's bad.

Most creative road rage I ever saw was in Austin. I was just walking and a guy in one car obviously was pissed at the guy behind him, though I didn't see for what reason. Well, they were stopped at a red light and when it turned green the guy in front just sat there despite all the honking. He waited until the light was just about to turn red again, and then he went, leaving the guy behind him to sit through another light.

I sorta caused a guy to get into a wreck too, though it really was his own fault. It was in Dallas. I had just gotten out from seeing Ep. I on opening day so it was incredibly crowded. Well, there was so much start/stop traffic that there were a couple times when everyone had to slam on their breaks. The guy behind me was in a beat up truck and he apparantly blamed the stops on me, so I noticed in my rear view mirror that he gave me the finger. Well I pretty much ignored it, but then when he passed me I couldn't help but give him a go to hell look. He layed on the gas like he wanted to race and I don't know why but I started to speed up too. Well, I got to my turn so I just eased into the turn lane and he looked back and laughed like he had won. Then traffic came to another one of those stops and he rear ended the guy in front of him.

  25. pacmainia,

many of your suggestions are very similar to requirements for a pilot's license here in the USA.

You must log 40 hours time, and a certain number is required with an instructor, and a certian number solo
There are about a dozen maneuvers you must master (fail any and you don't pass)
You must pass a written test
You must pass an oral exam
And you must pass a flight exam every two years in an airplane

Although I think that is a little too strict for cars, I do believe that people should have to take a road test every few years. I also think that you should be required to drive a certain number of hours under supervision before taking the test.

  26. You'll never believe my story! I went over from the Uk to France on a booze cruise, and the drivers over there are so bad they really do not care what part of the road they drive on. I had to get out of my car and wave my crook-lok at a few just to get them on the right side of the road. And this not just some dumbass teenager, this was practically everybody! the only people who were driving with any care seemed to be the other Uk drivers!!

  27. There has been a UK TV show just aired called Britains worst driver. My god you would not believe the level of ineptitude of these people. And these are all people who have passed their driving test. They should track down the examiners who passed these people and fire them .

The winner (or loser) of this competition, was an ex copper who passed his test in the 60's. I have njever seen driving like it, it was hilarious and quite scary at the same time.

He looked like foggy from last of the summer wine (may not translate well) and he just drove with blinkers on. I am sure his neck did not work, he just looked forwards, even then he still hit obstacles in front of him. If you get a chance and it is shown again watch this program, you will not believe your eyes.

I saw it, that was the old guy who took almost 30 mins to get up a multi storey car park. They weren't bad drivers - they couldn't drive at all

I do get sick of cars and the traffic when crossing a street. I sometimes get angry yelling them to get out of my way.

Doesn't have to be the driver getting the rage! Have you heard of pedestrian rage? This is happening to me.

Some drivers are so rude and they do cut me off at the corner. They are always going too fast in a hurry and don't care about someone’s safety. Drivers are a selfish lot. I am in a hurry too and I am sick of them.

I even experienced a couple of drivers on one day look as though trying were trying to run after me. They were changing lanes so fast without any indicator lights on as I was crossing the road.
