Does anyone know if it's possible to burn onto a DVD-R a MP3 jukebox program? Something that would have a GUI and I could select individual MP3's to play from my DVD player in my home theater. Any ideas?

Very cool idea but i'd think you'd either need a specialized dvd player or a program that would author the dvd with menus pointing to the different songs.

You would need a special dvd player. Standard dvd players can't load programs from dvds.
You could make a dvd-video with a menu system like a jukebox....but then you must convert the audio to mp2,ac3 or wav because mp3 isn't supported by the dvd-video standard.
Or get a htpc (pc with dvd-rom connected to your home theatre).
