Windows Longhorn is supposed to be better than current XP and it has a new file system. As the 1st beta release is almost here, what are your thoughts on it.

The differences seem minute:

i installed it on my laptop, just for shits.. it took a few tries to get it installed, but once i got it installed it was a huge slow piece of crap..
of course i realise this is a alpha/beta, but no way anyone should actually use this o/s for anything besides testing. -
According to the review I read, the WinFS just isn't ready yet --> SLOOWWW.

Yeah, anyway I think of it the new file system is gonna be a resourse drag. I hate Databases, they are so SLOW. Yet MS is so SURE that the File system should be one.... *sigh*

In my opinion, its next to worthless to make any user end judgements on a product that is not going to be released for another one to two years. The only truly valid critism would have to come from a development prospective. Things like the driver commands, file structure expandability, and hardware access control. Stuff users tend to care about like speed, look, and to a lesser extent stability, are addressed after the foundation is set. Also, the code they are currently using probably has a lot of "fluff" for debuging purposes.

Of course it was an illegal copy, as a true beta tester I can tell you don't know much about beta testing. Hey that's OK though, cause you don't have any input on the OS, like true beta testers do. You just get what we think you should get (illegal)Originally Posted by jeex
