MPG files don't work anymore...

They used to work, but now mediaplayer doesn't play this files anymore! It sux... I don't know what went wrong, I tried some other programs, but they didn't work either (like Throttlebox).

It had probably something to do with codecs. So I tried to download some... I've got the most important ones. Every time the screen turns blue and I have to start my computer again, because I cant return to windows anymore...

The message on the blue screen has something to do with VxD? Could someone please help me?

PLZ help me... AVI and ASF do work, but MPEG/MPG don't!

What codecs do I have to use for MPEG-1, MPEG-2? It worked in the past, so I must have had the right codecs than! But now my computer is totally ****** up.

I'm getting sick of it I almost tried everything. Why doesn't the bloody thing work...???

MainConcept has a package that supposedly works for video capture under linux ... I'm in the process of trying it.

Have you tried reinstalling Media Player?

yes I tried that and it succeed...

Now, I begin thinking it's a virus... NERO doesn't work anymore... It says ???.dll is perhaps infected with a virus. It also tried (it didn't work, because they were only reading!)to destroy all MP3 files by turning them in .mp3.vbs. Now I've got .vbs files all over my harddisk. With the JPEG files it succeed (they weren't only reading), I tried renaming them but they still wouldn't work!
