Formatting DVD-RW problems

I purchased a few Optodisc DVD-RW's, and whenever I format them with DVDrinfoPro they come out as coasters, and Pinnacle Instantwrite says 'an error has occured while formatting media' . And Nero turns RW's into coasters as well. any suggestions?

I think most (such as Princo, Memorex and Optodisks) 1x DVD-RW media are immatured products. Try 2x DVD-RW media or Maxell.
