  1. I need these to utilize my 8x burner since I understand Ritek is one of the better brands... but man I can't find them anywhere???

Am I just looking in the wrong place? I guess any 4x DVD+R disks that are inkjet printable will be fine but I don't want to get any crap.

  3. I don't do +r
But I did just order 4x -R ritek printables, after comparing prices at about 3 or 4 stores on them. I would think they would also sell +r disks if they can get them too. Didn't look though, since I don't need them.

Ok, now I looked, so much for any sarcasisms I might have been thinking

Did not see nearly as much for +printables as for - and NO ritek + either.

I did see some optodisk 4x + printables at shop4teck but that's all.
They had ritek leda and some others I think in -r.

Wonder why that is? Not as many +r printers as there are -R printers yet?

Do they make +r ritek printables?

  4. Beware of compatibility. Some older standalone players don't like
disks burned at 4x or 8x.

I made a few tests this weekend. I bought a batch of 4x certified
    Verbatim Datalife plus DVD+R disks.

I tried burning the disk at 4x on my Pioneer DVR-A06.

    Results:
    - My playstation 2: OK
    - My Pioneer 454 standalone player: OK
    - My old Panasonic A350 standalone player : Pixelizations and freezes
1h30 ... impossible to see the end of the movie.

Then, I burned the same iso image on a similar 4x certified Verbatim
DVD+R disk, but this time I burned at speed 2.4x.

    Results:

The disk played fine till the end on the PS/2, the Pioneer 454 and
    the Panasonic A350.

    Is it just me?
I can't find a single piece of 4X PLUS media in any store (by foot)
    printable or not...
Why are there never 4X Plus blanks in any store...?

The 4X minus media is scarce enough, but sometime present

any one else notice the complete lack of 4X PLUS media in brick & mortar stores?

Make sure it has a "C" at the end and not a "K". That is the word of warning from some other people.

Nope, those are thermal printable, not inkjet.

  12. Duh on me, I see that now in my post!

I thought I found those listed as inkjet printables though. I wonder if they had them listed in the wrong area or If I copied the wrong listing.

    Oh well, sorry!

I think a lot of places are lsting anything that says printable as inkjet printable, hence 2 day dry times. Yes I can print onto thermal printables with inkjet, and it might dry in 2 days.
