    hey guys,

ive so far been unable to see a solution to this problem on the forum before but if it has been answered already i apologise in advance,

when i play mpeg 1 files back in wmp 8, the vertical size is a little smaller than it should be, making it look squashed, when played through win dvd its fine, or when burnt onto a vcd etc its all fine,

so how come wmp doesnt play it the proper size, previously iven never had this problem, but i reformatted not long ago and this is a new problem. other programs must use the same codec cause in the preveiw window of nero it plays hte wrong size,

    any ideas,

    thanks

windows own media player is crappy for watching vcd/svd`s,if the movie looks ok with windvd and your standalone dvd player i wouldnt worry about it.

    hi

thanks for your help, i dont usually use it to watch stuff, but i use it to check things, it opens faster than anything else i have and i kinda like it, the file itself i know is fine, so that doesnt bother me

but it never used to happen, so im desperate to fix it, i dont like things happening when i dont know why, lol

so any ideas, could it be some sort of filter problem, the only thing i installed this time ive never had on before is the matroska playback pack,

    any ideas

    Try Media Player Classic
    It's in the tools section
    <---

It's free and opens faster than WMP 8!
It also support correct aspect ratios so you can see how things are easily
