  1. Hi,

This is an off topic post and has nothing to do with warez or anything else forbidden in the forum.

I've just converted a live Happy Mondays vhs to VCD. I lost my binary newsgroup access so I'm unable to post it. I was wondering if there are others who would be interested in this - I could send it via ftp or p2p.

Also is there anyone else taking old, out of print or good bootleg tapes and making VCD's out of them? I'm looking for anything similar - specifically Stone Roses or other early rave/manchester stuff.

I'd love to trade VHS to VCD methods (such as the best filters and cropping) plus the best way's to re-master/improve the audio track.

Thanks - contact me or reply to this post.

    -stinky

ps I am assuming this OT post is ok - if it's not my apologies.

Call the cops! - Happy Mondays rule.

I would love it but Im only on 56k.
Ive got Oasis - Live By The Sea on VHS which I could convert if you want it. I have also got all Oasis CDs (inc singles) and loads of bootlegs.
Ive got all the Stone Roses CDs (inc Singles) but no video material.

  3. That would be great - Oasis VHS would be great also (converted to VCD)! How are your tools for re-mastering the audio? Do you have a copy of SoundForge?

I'm looking so hard for Stone Roses - Live At Blackpool in NTSC format.

56K is going to be hard - the Happy Mondays VCD is about 450meg ...

email me - maybe we can do a trade via regular mail? - or I'll see about putting enabling FTP on my home server

    ...OK...
Everything you said fine... but one thing -
    "NTSC format"!
Guessing by your Email domain you are from New Zealand. Well, I live in the UK. Ive only ever worked with PAL. Ive done NTSC to PAL, but not vice versa. perhaps you can help me with this.
As far as audio tools, I have a Soundblaster Platinium Live! 5.1 soundcard with quite a lot of software. Why does the audio need to be remastered anyway?
    I'll email you soon.
Oh, ftp on your home server. Nice idea - I hope that it has a resume function, hehe

  5. NTSC vs. PAL only really matters for VHS not VCD's -- I only have a NTSC vcr

the audio doesn't have to be remastered - but for the same reason I use video filters and other stuff the improve the video I figure if I'm going through the trouble of converting to VCD I might as well try to improve everything (such as noise reduction and mastering of the audio)

I'll look for your email - if I do post it to my home ftp I'll cut it up as many rar's so you won't have to worry about losing a really big file or doing a resume.

I think that the audio should be OK. The video isnt that old and I have only played it a few times.

i think we should private message from now on:
I dont think that we can really discuss this here -
    Sorry Baldrick.

  7. Agreed - topic closed! Thanks Baldrick.

....but if you'd like to trade with d4n13l or myself just drop us an email - collecting out of print VHS concerts converted to VCD sounds like a fun new hobbie

You will have to private message me Im afraid: I dont like giving out my Email. it just invites junk spam to appear in my inbox. Also, I dont like getting mail bombed.
