Dear Sirs,

I have got a peculiar problem with my Sansui EDP 550S player. I understand that this model is actually bulk manufactured by a Chinese company called E&S Electronics, and is branded and sold by three different companies, Sansui, Hyundai and Nexphil in various parts of the world. So, I could also call it Hyundai HDP 550S or Nexphil EDP 550S.

The player otherwise works well. The problem is that when I play a disc containing Terminator I, II & III, the first two are played perfectly. But when it comes to the third one, the screen becomes black, and only the audio is played from start to finish. The player as well as the TV are multi-format (PAL/NTSC), and so I do not think there is a format problem. The disc plays without a hitch in my neighbour's Sony DVP NS-305 as well as my friend's Pioneer 366K, and therefore there may not be any disc problem.

Thinking that the macrovision might be getting activated for some reason when I play T3 (I do not connect my DVD player through VCR to my TV), I tried the "stop" and "1999" keys on remote to enter the maintenance menu. But there you can only alter the region code, but not the macrovision setting. So this was no help either!

Why such a problem is occurring? Is there any way I can make my player play these extended DVDs containing 3 movies or more? When the audio is playing from start to finish, why the video is not coming?
