I followed this guide https://www.videohelp.com/sefy/?id=ClassicalGuide.html but have been unable to save the project file correctly, I don't get the .wav file.
I had tried it many times and gone through each track without any luck.
So instead I saved the .avi which plays beautifully but obviously has no sound. The sound I saved seperately as what I think is a .mpeg file. When choosing output method under the audio option I chose demux, so I think it's a .mpa file in although I could be wrong as this is my first ever attempt.
Does anyone have any advice on how I could merge these two files to make a complete file with video and audio? I have windows movie maker which could convert them to a .wmv file but I am not sure if the result would be desirable, plus it would take absolutely ages!
Thank you,
Neil

I assume you are starting with a DVD
You should get a D2V and audio.
If you select demux you get probably an AC3 audio
If you select decode you get a wav file.
The d2v is not a video file, just a list of pointers
What are you trying to do ? -
I kept the vob files and got the D2V file but no matter how many times I tired I couldn't get a wav file. This is why I resorted to changing the settings to demux rather than decode and just saved the avi, because creating the wav wasn't working so there was no point of having a D2V file right?
Now I need to join the audio and video into one clip, so they are one file not two. Video being the avi and audio being the mpa file.
Thanks -
A DVD most likely has AC3 audio. If you have tried demux and decode
maybe you have the wrong channel Audio->Track number -
I tired each channel but had no joy, as stated above. So is there no way to create one file from the avi and acc files?

Is the DVD you're using as source a 'commercial' DVD or one created on a pc/standalone?
The reason I'm asking is that it sounds to me like your audio source is mpeg audio not ac3. You mentioned somewhere earlier that you had an mpa audio track well, this is what you get when you demux from a mpeg audio source.
Could be wrong though -
It's a cheap commercial DVD and the sound track was in mpeg format, I think the file saved is probably an mpeg the same. How do I know for certain?
If it is mpeg could I join it with the avi file to create one complete file with video + audio?
Thank you,

Yep - What zodiac says. I presume you have got an mpa file out of all this?

Thanks, I will look for a non .rar file as I don't have winrar and don't want to bother d/l it as I don't really like it much. How did you join the MP3 with the avi once you had converted the mpa file?
Thanks a lot for all the help!
