Riddle me this. Does "Retail Box" always mean you are getting the same thing?
While comparison shopping, I found a Pioneer A06 at J&R that came with MyDVD Video Suite 4 (part DVRA06USPK2) while Tiger Direct says that the AO6 comes with Ulead DVD Picture Show (part DVRA06USPK). Newegg doesn't say but the picture shows a CD with Nero, Ulead VideoStudio, Pictureshow and MovieFactory (part DVR-A06USPK4).
The other interesting thing is that J&R links to a rebate on the DVR-A06USPK (no 2 or 4) for $20 and nobody else seems to. The J&R price w/shipping after rebate is $164.83 which is close enough to OEM prices to go for the software bundles (providing you can tell what you are getting).
Could someone that has purchased an A06 shed some light on this please?
Thanks

The plain brown box included Nero Express 6, 25 DVD-R media and the Pioneer DVR-106 drive.
It's my understanding the A06 is in the pretty box and the 106 is OEM in a very nice plain brown box.
You have to ask yourself:
What can Brown do for you?Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.
