  1. Hi Everyone,

I am still a newbie, I am trying to convert a avi file to a vcd. I have a few avi files that have bad frames and have audio sync problems in parts. I have followed the bad frames guide exactly and have removed the bad frames. So now these files still have audio sync problems. I thought using the bad frames guide would fix that. Can you tell me how to fix this? Have I done something wrong? Is there a easy program to use that would convert avi to vcd without having audio problems. Thank you! I am starting to pull my hair out with these files

Really, at least to me, bad AVIs are a pain, and mostly not worth the trouble of trying to fix to the point where they can be converted to mpg successfully.
I usually run them thru VirtualDub mp3 freeze to scan for bad frames and then save out a fresh copy using direct stream for both A and V. If it still refuses to be encoded to mpeg without audio sync issues, the trash can is where I send it next (or settle for watching it on the monitor or the TV connected to TV out on the gfx card).

    /Mats
