  1. So let me get this straight, modchips that use a swap disk(swap magic 2.0,ar2,gameshark etc.)wont be able too
play dvd-rips(extracted items off a dvd game too fit a cd-r).but a swap modchip will play a original dvd copy(dvd-r)
perfectlly useing a swap magic disk 2.0 ect?.Untill swap magic 3.0 comes out you will not no shape or form get a dvd-rip
too work with a swap modchip(no-solder)? be cuz I tried,I have a no solder modchip and a magic disk and I cant run dvd-rips and I cant test the
ability too run dvd-r copys of a game cuz I dont have a dvd writer yet.

Im just trying too get some take ways from this forum and my experince with my modchip as well.the way I see it I should get a dvd
writer and make full copys of games(dvd-r) and forget about rips becuz 3.0 will be the only way too get a dvd-rip too work(on a no solder) and who
knows when it will come out.

Someone who knows there stuff about no-solder and dvd-rips/dvd copys
etc. shed some light on me.

This isn't the first time this topic's been discussed here. Do a forum search first and that might help.

Devanshu is right, it really wouldn't be worth the hassle. What are the chances something would happen to the discs in the first place that would require you to use the backup?

Not only that...the chances of you screwing up your $200 console while trying to install a modchip are even greater.

And you void the warranty the second you break that seal.

    Just say "no".

    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

If you have a no swap modchip then you dont need any swap magic disks you stick in the games and they work without problems.

With a swap modchip you can boot dvd-rips using the swap magic disks but you have issues with them in version 5 or higher they dont work right in some model and not at all in others v5 and up

I dont have this problem but I do have a simple answer to why some would want a legit backup though

    Destructive Children

Even though they probably shouldnt have a ps2 anyway

What age group are we talking about? Because if it's over 14...I highly disagree.

I wasnt referring to all children just destructive ones

Do you feel that destructive children that cant stop destroying games should have a ps2?(even though I feel that if someone wants to buy a destructive child a ps2 that that is their business, more power to them its not my money )

I mean people that have childern that use a ps2 that cant stop scratching up disks or breaking them because they step on since they forget to put them back in the case and leave them on the floor no matter their age
(I know people who have stepped on ps2 disks in the dark that their kids left on the floor and they were broken)

(actually 14 year olds or some 41 year old adults can scratch up disks too it depends on the maturity/responsibilty level of the individual)

Well it depends on an individual basis. My nephew is 4(or 5...I dont remember) and my cousin used him as an excuse to buy a xbox(the wife wouldnt let him otherwise). He is the most gentle kid ever and doesnt mistreat the console or the disks...frankly, he doesnt even play until his parents say it's ok.
