I am looking to purchase one of three models. The Apex AD-1500, Daewoo DVG3000N or the General Electric 1101P. From all the Reviews/Forums I've found, the Apex Models all develop problems with stopping during movies or failing to play entire movie, the Daewoo3000N has some color problems (although it seems, adjustable) and the GE1101P has problems with MP3 playback (i.e. "only plays 29 of 129 songs). On the other hand, you can reading glowing reviews of all models (Perhaps these people enter reviews to early into owning them).
Anyway, I'm leaning towards the Daewoo 3000N and looking to purchase soon. Any advise, tips or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I have the GE1101P and do NOT have the problem you have describe and honestly have never heard of that problem....now that may be due to that fact that I have hacked the firmware to allow for miniDVD usuage, but again, I do not have the mp3 problem you have describe...so of these 3 you mentioned...I highly recommend the 1101P or its 3disc changer sister the 5803.

kdiddy - your suggestion is a good one. Both of the GE's are Shinco units and are pretty darn good. I'm actually perplexed by what the original poster is saying. I think may be getting some bad information. Daewoo with a color problem? Well that's why you have adjustments on the TV - to adjust for things like this. Apex not playing DVD's all the way through? Never heard of that either.
When I test a DVD player I don't simply accept the playback with the default TV settings. I adjust it to improve the picture. Perhaps that is why I see very little difference in playback among most low and mid range players. -

I've heard of the problem before. Could be your TV. But a simple adjustment will correct it. It's no big deal.
I think too many people forget that they can adjust their TV when comparing various players. -
These are setting that seem to work for me on my televisions:
Sharpness: Turn this as low as it will go. Here is an example: __+______________ (about where the + is).
Brightness: Have this set at about the mid-point.
color: about the mid-point.
The color problem with the DAEWOO, I believe was someone indicating that their discs were playing in black and white instead of color. I hope they didn't have a B&W tv -

Or maybe they had the output set to PAL instead of NTSC.
