  1. I need some help getting rid of the commercials in a program I recorded. I am setting the 2 trim handles where the clip should start and end and everything looks like it should be right, but when I select "Save Trimmed Video", it always does the whole program instead of just the clip. Maybe someone knows where a tutorial can be found?

    Thanks

I don't have mine open at the mo (another prog is running) but I think the "save trimmed video" is only used when you have cut before and after. Did you actually remove (delete) the portion before trying to save?

  3. I think the "extract video" option will do a better job at removing commercials. Just remember to set it for "delete" or "keep" the marked areas BEFORE you mark them.

Yes. :c) Presto's right. It's the Extract function. Couldn't remember until I could open it and see it.

"Save trimmed" is good for when you need to remove bits at the start or end.

To do it that way, you have to choose "Preview Range" and not "Entire Project" when you go to Create Video File.

  5. You pressed the wrong button.

After you have clicked OK in the 'Extract Video' window, all the sections retained by you will go to the timeline. Click 'Share' in the top toolbar and select any of the options in the pull down menu of the 'Create Video File' in the left side of the program window.

  6. ok, I have been able to cut out the commercials using the "Extract Video" window. I selected what I wanted to keep and pressed the "OK" button. I now have all the video I want in the timeline at the bottom. Now what is the best way to save everything in the timeline. I tried "Save Trimmed Video", but it only saved one clip from the timeline. When I highlight "Project" nect to the play button, I get no save options. I am able to save it by clicking the "share" tab at the top and creating a video file, but that takes a long time and you have to watch the video as it renders it. There must be a way to save the timeline, instaed of a clip at a time.

    Thanks,

OK, you are almost there. First SAVE the whole project. Go to FILE... Save As. That will save everything you have in the timeline. Name it something different than you may have done before.

If what you want to to is encode it (not the same as save), now go up to Create Video File (upper right) and pick custom and set all your details, name it and start the encoding.

If you want to just maintain exactly what the video already was - first right click on any of the clips, choose Properties and match all of those details when you create the new, edited video without commercials.

  8. When you go to "share" there is a choice for "same as project". If you use that the render will go very fast because it doesn't have to reencode.

(The project properties are automatically the same as the first clip you put on the timeline)

Yes, BUT you must first check that your project is set to exactly how you want it. :c)

Mine tends to default to other settings, so I set that BEFORE I start any new project. Railer may not have set it yet.

Simply, use the scissors icon to cut or split the video at the beginging and end of each commercial. Then delete the commercials and render.

This has no effect on the original video. I do it all the time.
