  1. i have re-encoded a divx file to an mpeg using a Tempenc. after re-encoding, the mpeg is 150 megs bigger than the cd i want to put it on. I need it to be under 700 megs in order to make a vcd to play on my standalone. Is there anyway to reduce the size to under 700 by reducing as less quality as possible. If i need to lose alot of quality than i have no other option. Sorry for asking a simple question. THanks ahead of time.

First off, you should know that an 80 min CD will hold 800 MB if burned as a video CD. VCD's do not use error correction on the CD, hence the larger capacity. This is known as mode 2 writing.

Here's a guide to fitting a movie on one CD.
