This is my 1st post on this site so firstly, i would like to thank all the helpful ppl who make this place a wealth of knowledge that has proved very helpful to me, and countless others i would imagine. I have just started learning to make SVCD's to watch on my stand alone player and have run into the following prob. Can anyone tell me how, and with what tool(s) i can get rid of "corrupt frames" as they are causing sync problems so that after any bad frame...the audio/video goes out of sync.It would also be useful to know how these "frames" were corrupted in the 1st place as it seems to be a fairly common problem... Thanx

If you captured them yourself, you might have a clue.
If you downloaded them, you may never know. -
Scan for bad frames in virtualdub. If the file has VBR audio use vdub mp3 freeze, the frames have to be removed manually using this version. Check the guides for more detailed instructions. Frames are corrupted during the downloading process, you can eliminate this by using emule to download which will re-download any corrupt chunks (I am assuming these are legitimate downloads as advocating warez is against forum rules). And welcome to the forum.

Thanx 4 the replies folks...craig...when i load my film into v-dub 1.4.9 i dont get the VBR mssg so im assuming it waz done as CBR...if this is the case can i get rid of the bad frames with the normal v-dub? and if so is the process the same ?...cheers
p.s. The film im trying to fix is "Alien" and thx 4 the advice about "warez" 8):) "Janey is m' Sunshine" :) -
If it has cbr audio you can fix it with the regular vdub. Open the file click on scan for bad frames, when it has finished it will tell you if there are bad frames. To remove them simply save the file with a new filename using direct stream copy for both the audio and video. It will be saved minus the bad frames.
