Hi,
Just bought a Samsung SM172W TFT. It's supposed to run at 1280x768 resolution but windows does not show this option in the display properties so I have to used 1024x768 where the horizontal is stretched. This wouldn't be too much of a problem, but WMP etc play widescreen movies as if it were a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor and the result is that I get a REALLY stretched movie and that isn't much good! I have a 3dfx Voodoo3. Is the graphics card the problem? Not sure whether it supports the resolution and I can't find anywhere that tells me.
Hope you can be of help!

Try: Control pannel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Adapter>List all modes.
My laptop shows that resolution there, but I haven't tried it. -
Hi thanks for your reply...
It doesn't appear to be listed there. I know that the monitor supports it so I'm guessing it must be the Gfx card? Any1 have any ideas of how to fix it?
Thanks -
I am not 100% sure, but I think the Voodoo3 does support that resolution. Do you have the last release of the drivers? I don't know where you could get the drivers since 3dfx has been defunct for several years, but I am sure you could find them on the internet.
