39.99 is a little less than dvd2one, but who knows how well it works. Guess we will just have to try it. Im getting the demo now as we speak

Ok so i did the DEMO, it looks nice. noting shocking to me in comparison with dvd2one, except i already bought dvd2one and i didnt buy this one.

Perhaps for those who have nothing its an alternative, since its less expensive

have not tried ffmpegx's new features! I just downloaded it a bit ago and was amazed to see it in there!!!

    way to go major!!

If I understand correctly, this new app can only make 'full disc' copys (including all extras and menus), right? DVD2oneX can also make 'movie only' copys + in the very near future will have a joining feature (2 discs -> 1 DVD-R). Better value for money IMO, and it works perfectly for me every time. No reason to 'switch'.

I'm all for competition amongst quality products ... However since DVD2OneX was the result of a major grassroots effort, the loyalty to the program is a huge disincentive to switch, even to the latest ffmpegX.

I agree. I think dvd2oneX was a pioneer for this type of app for OSX. There is something said about being the 1s tof its kind and holding true to the power of its ability.
Yes the dvdremaster just does full disks, so its not really feasable if you are one for only doing Movie only copies due to loss of quality.
but it does work and is less expensive.

YET, i still would recommend dvd2one over this.

  8. we will be adding requantiser support to the next version of DVDMP+ (we believe)

I will be a 1-click option in MP+, working the same way it does now (basically as an "alternate encoder").

So in essence, it will be "Movie only with chapter marks."

The quality is a LOT nicer this way.

  9. And ffmpegX requantiser support is now "movie only, without chapters"

According to the website they are 60% faster than DVD2OneX. That's quite a big jump. Perhaps the guys working on DVD2OneX will see the competition and have a speed battle with them. Competition is good for the consumers, and their wallets.

  11. Look closer at the comparising,

They compared the fastest mode of dvdremaster with the slowest mode of dvd2onex (constant ratio, much more to recompress)
