  1. Has anyone had any success with this media? I got coasters yesterday when trying to burn a dvd with video_ts folder at 4x. Should I try 2x?

  2. Burned 3 on my pioneer 106 with no problems using Nero...don't know what the issue would be...

  3. Did you burn at 4x? I authored with dvd-labs and burnt with nero express at 4x.

  4. Yeah - burned one as an ISO on DVD Decryptor and it burned from 4.1-4.2x the whole time...

  5. Don't get me wrong though -- I usually will not buy Memorex because they have always been crappy for me. However, these DVD+R are made by Ricoh and so I decided to give them a try...if you are having problems, I would just steer clear of them because many people report having problems with them

  6. I also have no problems with mine burning at 4x. Might wanna run DVDinfo and see who manufactures it.

  7. No luck with Memorex but I I burnt a tdk dvd+rw at 2.4x succesfully. Even after upgrading the firmware to 1.06 still no success. I picked them up at compusa for $14 for 10-pak maybe there were problems with the batch that made them slash the price.

  8. I tried burning with ulead dvd mf but still no show with the memorex. I get an error at the final stages of burning does this signify that it's the media that's bad? Also does anyone know if FMI discs at compusa are compatible with the dvr-a06?

  9. how large was the compilation you were burning? Anything over 4 gigs and you'll likely run into problems. I just went through hell with my 106/A06 and FujiFilm DVD+R's (they only burn data and not video dvds on my drive) so I ended up getting Memorex +RWs and they've worked hella good, not a single error (unless it goes through Nero, then it sometimes won't even recognize there's a blank disk in the drive).

I've been able to use Clone DVD, Copy to DVD, Ulead DVD Movie Factory and DVD Lab quite successfully with this drive and Memorex. Nero on the other hand... not what I'd recommend (which is unfortunate because for (S)VCDs it does a really great job) for this drive with Memorex or Fujifilm media (ironically there's a bundle deal between Nero and Pioneer). I purchased my drive without bundled software or even cables, but apparently Ulead DVD Movie Factory has been bundled with the A06/106 drive which probably explains why it works so exceptionally well with the drive.

  10. The compilation was 3.2 gig when I write with ulead dvd mf I get an error :" insufficient space on disk". Why would Pioneer bundle incompatible software with their drive? I bought a retail version to specifically avoid this problem since I was new to dvd burning.
I authored and burnt a tdk +rw with dvd labs and Nero but my standalones couldn't read it, the disc would lock up the players. However when I authored and burnt with ulead it worked fine. This unreliablity is driving me nuts I haven't been impressed with this burner so far at all. The pioneer usa site has been down for several days so there's no tech support.

  11. There is an update for the MF2 file size calculator on the Ulead site. Also, check your audio settings and see if the audio is set to LPCM instead of MPEG audio. That might account for the 'insufficient space' error. You didn't go ahead an burn anyway after this error message, did you? If so, the media might be fine, but your file truly was too big, even though you thought it was 3.2 gigs.

  12. The MF2 size update is installed.
