Upside down nero

I'm sure you have heard this all before but....
Instead of converting avi's to mpeg then burning I've tried using nero 5.5 to do it from whoa to go.
But the movie comes out upside down as well as inside out.
I understand this is a problem when using nero. Does anyone know of another burning app that will do what nero can but correctly? And where to find it?

its much easier to encode avi to mpeg first then burn,use something like tmpgenc to encode.
