  1. I have a Sony DVD standalone player which has a digital out and a coaxle (forgive the spelling) for audio and on my computer I have a 5.1 surround sound theatre thing.

The surround system works off of 3 wires that plug into my Audigy card and this goes into the sub/amp and then out to the 5 speakers.

Is there a way I can use this on my Sony player?

What wires/convertors do I need - or isnt it possible??

    Thanks a lot

See if your computer speaker setup has an optical or coaxial imput and try that otherwise you need a speaker setup with a built in decoder . I hope this helps 8)

  3. You'll need something like this:

I don't know what type of digital out connector you have, it will either be optical or coaxial. The above supports both. It is quite expensive, but there may be something cheaper with only the connector that you need. However, it is definitely possible

  4. Cooooool

But from that link, I would still need to be using my computer as well as the standalone Sony player, wouldn't I??

    -=-Connectors-=-
    Sony DVD Standalone has:
Scart going out to the TV (or whatever)
    Orange Coaxial (Unused)
    Optical Out (Unused

    SB DTS 1600 (I think)
5 phono pins - one for each speaker
3 little jacks like what most PC microphones use (from Audigy card) - one for sub frequency, one for front speakers and a third for the rear speakers.

Could I send the audio to the amp via one of those Scart adapters which split it into the yellow composite (straight to the TV) then the red and white audio... (to the amp sum how??)
