I have one of the first dvd players on the market made by Technics(Panasonic). It doesnt play CD-R(W) and most of DVD-+R(W).
I tried Princo in it and it played not problem at all, than after few months disks started to have problems (skipping, jerky playback....) as ppl reported. I said crappy Princo but I put disc in to my second DVD player Sharp DV740X which plays everything and it plays not problem. What the ? I put it back to Technics and plays again no problem for a couple of monts then situation repeat. All princo disks were the some (diferent batches). Does any one reported this fenomen ?

Are you sure you didn't wipe off the DVD before moving it from one machine to the other? Maybe you inadvertently cleaned it, thereby making it good for a few months until it got dirty again. Or maybe your Sharp player has some mechanism that somehow cleans a disk, whether deliberately or accidentally.

It could just be that the player can only just focus on that media, sometimes it will achieve it, sometimes it won't.
I've got some borderline media like that, and if I keep ejecting the disc and re-loading it, eventually it will work. I tend to use the same media manufacturers now I've found a selection that are highly compatible with my standalone, and don't have any problems - it's just finding the time to dig out the dodgy discs and burn the content onto a more compatible disc that's the problem now.
