Having decryption problem with DVDbackup. Decided to try using OSeX for the first time, but I also get an error that reads"
Fatal Error:
OSeX Thread_DiscFormat:: open()
A tutorial that I read on this forum mentions that I should "Just choose DVD FOLDER and click BEGIN"
Is there more to this if I'm just trying to de-encypt a DVD, or is it the disk itself that's the problem?

Could be the disc... Whta movie is it? It might have already been covered as a problematic disc.

If you're having trouble with DVD Backup, try setting it to leave the region code unchanged, some will accept the region change, some won't.
It too, could be a disc that just won't work, but I've yet to find one... -
0SEx always crashes like this when there is *anything* else on the disc except the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, for example a DVD-ROM section.

Try playing the DVD in Apple DVD Player, playing one or two seconds of each chapter. If you want the extras, play a couple seconds of those also. This will give DVDBackup access to all the keys on the disc, if it uses more than one. Also, do a good wipedown of the outer edge of the disc before attempting to rip.

The film is the new Special Edition of Dances with Wolves, disk one, side B. It stops decypting in the middle of VTS_01_5.VOB
To "ZeroSix": Side A and the other disk worked fine. It would be interesting to know if this is on of the problematic disks and why they are problematic.
To "the future"" there are special features on this side and it may include a JACKET_P folder. I'll have to chek again on that. But that sounds likely. Is there a way around it?
To "AntnyMD": After seraching on the forum someone suggested that as well. I did play every chapter few seconds just to make sure I accessed all the keys. Still no good. Also did the wipe down thing.
This also happened with the Special features disk on the Special Edition The Color Purple. However I was able to get around that by copying just the VIDEO_TS volder to my HD and decypting it form there. This makes me think that it could be an issue with the disk itself, although I can't be sure since the other sides seemed to go fine.
