    As a complete novice at trying to produce a VCD, I am at a loss as to which software to use to convert an AVI file to a burnable mpeg.
    Any suggestions to which program/s that a newbie might find easy to use.

    I would recommend reading the How To section of this site, the Guides and Articles would be a good place to start.

    I was a complete newbie only a few weeks ago, reading the guides told me everything I needed to know!
